The United States Mint is a mint that mintes circulation coins for the United States of America. The main operation is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Other locations are in Denver, Colorado, San Francisco, California and West Point, New York.
The Mint was founded in 1792. The first building was located in Philadelphia. It was the first building based on the Constitution of the United States. The first director of the mint was scientist David Rittenhouse. Richard Peterson has been the CEO since 2014.
